Creating Common Platforms towards Sustainable Development of Macro-Regions: North-West Russian Federal District Strategy and the European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region
October 28 @ 15:00 - 17:00
In the framework of XVIII Annual Strategic Planning Leaders Forum of the Regions and Cities of Russia (Forum Strategov), CBSS, together with EUSBSR HA Neighbours, Centrum Balticum Foundation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and Leontief Centre organise a round table on creating common platforms towards sustainable development of macro-regions.
The European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and the Strategy for Socio-Economic Development of the North-West Federal District of the Russian Federation-are the first macro-regional strategies developed in Russia and the European Union. Now it is the time for both of these strategies to be updated. With the adoption of the Russia’s Spatial Development Strategy until 2025, a macro-regional strategy is being developed for North-West Russia. EUSBSR is subject to review, mainstreaming Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and revising the EUSBSR Action Plan. The panelists will discuss key issues of cooperation in developing and implementing new-generation strategies.
